The lightweight machine can be operated as a stand-alone unit, constantly cleaning and recirculating the interior air volume. It can also be used with the included collar to duct the airflow outside, enabling a negative pressure environment.
What is negative pressure?
It’s not the peer pressure you felt in high school. Instead, negative pressure rooms are used in healthcare settings to contain airborne contaminants within an infected occupant’s room. The Tri-Kleen 500UV is a negative air machine with a built-in HEPA filtration system to provide the most effective mechanical filtration available.
The quiet device creates negative pressure to remove contaminated air from a closed controlled area. Potentially dangerous particles are removed from the exhausted air at peak efficiency by the HEPA filters contained within the unit.
The Tri-Kleen 500UV features an advanced three-stage filtration system. A MERV 8 pre-filter catches macro-contamination, then a High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter removes 99.97% of all particulates down to 0.3 microns. Finally, the Tri-Kleen utilizes a UV-C germicidal bulb to kill trapped bacteria, viruses and mold.

Is it right for COVID-19?

Negative pressure
To prevent particles from escaping from the room to be cleaned, Tri-Kleen 500UV can be operated in negative pressure. Operation in negative pressure requires a solid technical ventilation setup. In this case, the incoming air must be highly pure.
Positive pressure
Positive pressure rooms are used for applications where the room’s interior must remain clean and will not be contaminated by polluted air, for example through airborne molecular contaminants or particles transported by microbes.
Circulating air
Closed-off rooms can be continuously cleaned of particles in circulation mode, which significantly improves the air quality.
