Safety comes first at Airgas. That’s why Airgas continues to emphasize the safety of its customers, associates and the community at large, particularly at a local level, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aspects of Airgas business are vital to the collective COVID-19 response and, in emergency situations, priority is always given to medical facilities and first responders.
With that said, Airgas has implemented precautionary measures to increase public safety at this time, including curbside pickup and direct delivery options. It’s still easy and convenient to get what you need from your local Airgas distributer or receive an Airgas delivery.
Airgas encourages customers to follow social distancing recommendations by placing orders for direct delivery via Airgas.com or the Airgas punchout site. Customers can call ahead to a local branch and have them prepare orders for curbside pickup using the same social distancing standards. “Our committed associates are taking every precaution, including washing hands and social distancing methods like staggering or splitting shifts so we limit interactions, wiping down devices after each customer visit, and staying home if we are sick or in contact with someone exposed to the virus,” said Airgas CEO Pascal Vinet.
“While every emergency situation is different,” continued Vinet, “we believe our commitment to emergency preparedness, extensive resources, strong national infrastructure, programs to help associates manage impacts to them from the event, and experience during past emergency situations position us well to respond to your needs.”
Airgas suppliers are currently diverting respirators for critical medical use, so Airgas has decided to stop the sale of disposable N95 respiratory products until further notice. Medical facilities and first responders are in desperate need of these respirators and Airgas suppliers continue to address that critical need.
In addition, because there is extremely high demand for all respirators, as well as health and safety products such as hand sanitizers, Airgas will not be able to fulfill new spot, extraordinary or special orders for these products. Airgas is not authorized by suppliers to ship certain products outside of the United States that are designed and packaged to meet U.S. specifications. Existing customers with an established history of ordering these products from Airgas in the normal course of business will be prioritized. High volume orders will be subject to further review. Airgas hopes that all of its customers understand that Airgas cannot guarantee fulfillment of requested quantities at this time.
