Top colors for spring painting

Spring has sprung! And you know what that means…warmer weather, more sunshine and longer days. The flowers start to bloom and bring a beautiful mix of color to surrounding landscapes. It’s like a new spring color palette.

Sure, we’ve been social distancing for most of spring so far, but that just gives you more time to consider freshening up your space, right?

Spring is probably the most talked about time of the year to clean. So while you’re spring cleaning for the umpteenth time, think about how a splash of color might awaken new possibilities in each room of your house… or even at your office when you return. With that in mind, let’s unveil the top colors of spring from Sherwin-Williams:

1. Camel
In the past, darker tone leathers were popular. But, more recently, light-toned leathers have been trending. Usually paired with furniture that has natural materials like wood, camel is a great color for a more neutral tone look.

2. Blush
A timeless color palette (think about rooms depicted in movies about the 20’s, 60’s, 80’s), blush provides warmth in a subtle way without going over the top. Good combinations with blush are whites and taupes (cough cough, camel!).

3. Yellow
One of the best and brightest spring colors in the business. A nice buttery yellow is best used in small doses and is great as an accent wall color.

4. Sky Blue
Arguably the cheeriest of the blues, this natural classic is a surefire way to add some color and pizazz to your space. Sky blue also goes great as an accent color in a predominantly white-toned space.

5. White
Speaking of white, it doesn’t get more classic than that. White or cream is a foolproof way to brighten up any space and offers an extremely clean look. I don’t know about you, but I love me a clean and organized looking area. I feel like it makes me more productive and it brightens my day. However, you don’t want to be too plain so, if you choose white, make sure to add some accent color (possibly those mentioned above) or accent the white walls with colorful art or plants.

6. Pastels
A tried and true bundle of springtime shades, reminiscent of warmer days and Easter eggs. A great way to incorporate color back into your space after the dark winter months have passed.

7. Coral
Named “The Color of the Year” by the Pantone Color Institute last year, this is a great vibrant color that will energize any room. Like other bright colors, coral does best as a statement wall, so it’s not too overwhelming. (Side note: Sherwin-Williams color of the year is naval.)

8. Sage Green
Similar to pastel shades, sage green is light and airy, which is perfect for spring! This color pairs well with the camel and taupe shades mentioned above, but would also be great with white.
